About Suzanne
As a young child, Suzanne was immersed in household passionate about bonsai. Her parents joined the
Bonsai Society of Australia in 1974; and in 1980, her father Ken Hughesdon, helped to establish the
Australian Association of Bonsai Clubs (AABC). Meanwhile her mother Roslyn, worked for the Korashoffs
at their influential nursery in Castle Hill.
In 2008, Suzanne joined the Newcastle Bonsai Society, where she built upon the techniques taught by her
father, through enthusiastic involvement in club and wider bonsai community activities. Adapting from the
traditional style practiced by her parents, she has gravitated towards a more naturalistic aesthetic.
Through her involvement with NBS she continues to share her love for bonsai, by helping others on their
bonsai journey through club workshops and demonstrations. She remains passionate about meeting new
people and fostering friendships with like minded bonsai practitioners and artists.
